So here's a neat little update.
Apparently what I thought might just be a high river may be turning into a potentially big flood issue. If you've watched the news lately you may have heard about the Red River running along Fargo, ND and Grand Forks, ND. I live in the latter city and if what I hear is right, predictions for the water level keep rising. The dike that stands now is built to withstand the river at approximately 60ft. The last I've heard is the river is supposed to crest at 58ft. That leaves 2 feet of clearance... as long as the river doesn't get any higher and this snow stops falling.
To go along with that, we may be getting another storm next week, which sure won't help anything. If the dike that was built after the last big flood doesn't hold, we'll have a much bigger mess than 11 years ago when the same thing happened.
So if this all goes to shit, I have to move back in with my family who I haven't lived with in... well quite a few years. And dial-up internet? Who still uses that?
Anyway, I may or may not be around for a while.. all depending on what mother nature decides she wants to do with us. I'm hoping for letting us off easy instead of fucking me in the ass.
Woe is me
