I got excused from jury duty. Ha! This was tough for me. I really wanted to serve on a jury, but I knew as a lawyer practicing in this small town, that no one would want me. I am also so busy in my private practice that taking time off would have been a real problem. Then to have to sit through the voir dire process just to have the lawyers reject me would have been a waste. Plus, who wants to hire a lawyer who isnt smart enough to get himself out of jury duty.
