What does a condom feel like?

I had an interesting discussion with a couple of college-aged boneheads. They were essentially of the opinion that condoms only suck for guys, that women can't feel much of a difference. That it's mostly the guy who gets fucked over by using a condom. I couldn't imagine that being the case, but never having had a condom-encased dick inside me, I had not empirical evidence.

So, I posted the question to an SG group, and got predictable answers...yes it makes a difference - the dick in question feels colder - less personal etc.

Does anyone have anything to add? Does it really feel that much worse? What about ribbed condoms - can you even FEEL the ribs?
