For all the hustle, this has been an extraordinary summer full of great joy and some pretty intense sadness. Ive been a bit depressed this last week after breaking up with my girl, but this weekend was all about joy, Im happy to report.

Friday night I hosted a little party for friends. I set up the ping pong table and outdoor speakers in my...

Hey, I bet I know some of those aerialists you saw at smoke farm last summer.

Yesterday I rode my Triumph north along the viaduct at twilight. I let my senses drift beyond the thrum of cement under rubber to absorb the blood red sunset over Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains to the west; the spired Seattle skyline to the east; the salty and still green scent of late summer evening air rushing past my face.

Then fell in love...

July. Where did it go? I just looked back on my calendar and realized that I slept in my own bed just 6 times the entire month. It's been a roller coaster...

Filling up my Monday through Friday has been work in Long Beach. Normally I fly down Tuesday and stay through Thursday, but things have been hectic. A few times I had to fly...

you have a pug?? its a girl or a boy? i want to see pictures im a really pug fun i would have zillions if i could love
raging_donut:
Here he is, Susi. As far as pugs go, I'm told Oscar isn't perfect. He's too tall, too long, and not the right kind of ugly. He's also a total bastard and steals things from girl's purses, which occasionally makes my parties interesting. Once he sat down in the middle of a group with a bottle of lube that he had stolen (not mine), which caused a bit of a ruckus. eeek I love him.

My first public trapeze performance went well! I performed with FOUR amazing and beautiful women to the song, Human Fly by the cramps. I was a geeky and lovesick spider, and the ladies were VERY sexy Fly Girls who couldn't help but have a little fun at my expense. I had to remix the music with Glory of Love ( by Peter Ceterra), and the...

I was thinking of setting up a second home in Long Beach, but in the end I've decided that having someone to clean up after me is pretty nice. With that in mind, I'll just stay at the Westin 3-4 days a week and spend as much time with interesting people (who typically aren't anywhere near the hotel) as possible. This isn't ideal, but probably...

So I'm wondering if it makes sense to get an apartment in Long Beach. I mean, I work there 3-4 days a week and I've made friends. The area is pretty cool, and I am totally sick of living out of a suitcase. Then again, The life I've worked hard to build is based in Seattle. Hmmm.

I COMPLETELY understand your train of thought, and where you're coming from. but take that idea, and that whole entire concept, and flip it around, to the complete opposite end of the spectrum, and that's me. Perhaps Im not nearly putting enough effort into it at all? I thought about that earlier...

Hey honey, your blog is a month old now. How was your decision?! did you get the appartment in long beach or did your "old life" win???

oh and by the way: thank you very much for the great comment on my set and the compliment about my smile and the eyes!

I picked up my latest project yesterday! I ride motorcycles, but other than maintenance I really haven't worked on them much...until now. I just bought a 1974 Kawasaki KZ 400, which I will restore and convert into a vintage cafe racer! Her name is Yoshimi, and will be a little badass. My Triumph, Emma, approves.

Thanks SO much for your comment on my Haiku set! I'm so happy that you like this set...I worried about the simplicity of it. But, sometimes, like a Haiku, simple is best. smile

Marathon Weekend, Part II

Thursday, Oct 9 2008

Sunday morning was cold and wet. I woke up at 4:30 to the sounds of Bob Dylan (Blood on the Tracks), and enjoyed a lovely breakfast of an organic meal-replacement bar, a bit of dried fruit, a few almonds, and coffee. I also got...

I'm going over some old stuff I wrote, and I came across this. It seems appropriate, since I'm back in training mode. Much like a marathon, this is loooooong, but hey, it's 26.2 and a lot happened, so fvcking deal. ;-)

Wow. This past week has been absolutely brilliant, but I'm a bit overwhelmed. The Seattle Moisture Festival Burlesque show was the best ever, and last night's comedy/variate' performance was off the chain! I cannot believe I'm a part of this amazing community, even if I am just a humble aerialist.

Oh, on top of these things, my marathon training is in full force, and I...
