I bought fuzzy slipper socks today. Merry Christmas to me!
I wrapped up all the gifts I've bought tonight. Except for the stuff I need to get boxes for.
French toast sticks are my new fave food. I forgot how much I love them until I bought some today and had them for dinner. All of you low-carb dieters are missing out on some yumminess.
My parents are being unusually high spirited this holiday season. Both of them are generally holiday haters, esp my dad. But dad told me tonight I should bring my kitty home with me for Christmas and that she can sleep with him. He apparently also told my mom to buy her a gift. Awwww. I'm touched since last year this man returned most of his gifts simply cuz he "didn't need them". And walked out of the living room and went outside to have a cigarette while we were all opening presents still. I'm curious as to why the change has occured but I'm not questioning it. I'm just hoping it lasts another week or so.
It is -2 degrees here according to weather bug. Brrrrrrrrrrr.
People need to get their kids under control when they are in checkout lines. I need to have candy cane tranquilizers to give these crazed little twerps. Now, I know parents can't "control" what their kids do but if your kid is in my face, trying to press buttons on my cash register and I tell him or her to stop three times--HELLO--step in and do something, you are the parent after all. If not, then I'm not gonna care when your kid manages to add an extra three of whatever it is I last scanned to your order because he or she is pushing the damn buttons or re-scanning things. Tough luck. You thought it was fine when all it was doing was inconveniencing me but now that it affects you, well, we'd better do something about it. Okay, rant is over.
My friend Rich is going to cosmotology school and he has promised me a new cut, color and acrylic nails, which I've never had before. Yay for being a guinea pig.
I am now strongly considering going back to school to get my masters degree so I can do what I originally set out to do, which is become a school counselor/psychologist. I'd sort of given up on it but I ran into a teacher I'd had in high school and she asked about what I'd been up to. Turns out, her daughter also majored in sociology and couldn't find a job so she enrolled in grad school, loved it, graduated and is now living the dream I'd envisioned for myself. It opened up my eyes a lot. I sure as hell don't want to be stuck at Meijer for the rest of my life. So I'll be looking into MSU and Western for grad school. If all goes according to plan, I can start up again next fall which is perfect because our lease here ends in August and we were planning to get out of Mount Pleasant anyway if at all possible. Dustin is excited about the possiblity of MSU because several of his good friends have moved to Lansing. He is also not opposed to K-zoo because we'd be closer to his dad's house and where he grew up. So I'm excited and hopeful and a bit nervous that I won't get into either school.

Oh my. Kitty will freak out in the car. My kitty hates car rides. Ive been trying to get her used to them. I put her in the car and she howls with that forlorn meow that sounds sad and angry at the same time!
