With Valentine's day coming up it got me thinking over the weekend. I hate the concept of Valentine's day. Its a day of forced love. This year we will be celebrating it. Two of my friends who had relationships, marriages in fact, that seemed unshakable have recently told me that their marriages are ending. One had been married for 5 years the other for 10 and a half. Andy and I don't have a perfect marriage. We have fights that get pretty ugly sometimes but we are working towards a goal of resolving the issues that make us crazy. The fact is after a lot of recent fights that ended in tears and wondering if we can actually be with each other we are still standing. We are still here, together. He is still with me despite everything about me that makes me not as compatable with him as I wish we were at times. He is sticking by me and working through this. If nothing else this year I can stand beside the man that two years ago did something extremely reckless and married a girl who said she loved him in the first two days. We are still standing. While that might not seem like a lot to most people, it speaks so much in my world. I raise my glass to love, my not so fairy tale love with my not so fairy tale knight. I also raise my glass to us still standing.
