Funny thing happened the other day. I was heading over a friend's place to show him in-progress previews of a couple recent co-creations I've been working on - a segment from the new film I'm producing, and a freshly bottled sample of the homebrew _margot_ and I just brewed together. And I realized: I'm much more nervous and curious about what he was going to think about the beer than I was about what he'd think about the film.

I don't think it's time to give up the producing gig and apply for a microbrewery license just yet. There's plenty of good reasons why I was more anxious about the beer - it's the first time I've brewed, so I'm probably extra excited, plus while I contributed my part to producing the segment, I had a more direct hand in making the beer (just a two person team, after all).

Still, I've been having a hell of a lot of fun on the hombrewing endeavor, and I'd be lying if I didn't admit to a few light fantasies of futures in brewpub ownership. Hmmm. . . I wonder if the brewmasters at Stone or Dogfish Head ever daydream about producing movies (scratch that - I've seen the way Greg and Sam ham it up on camera: their daydreams obviously fall along the lines of starring in movies). . .
