(Crossposted from my Live Journal)

I suppose everybody who's still posting here is all prefacing entries with the kind of "it's been a while" kind of frame. Because it has been a while.

Anyway. I'm writing this as kind of a reminder to myself. And way to get back on the LJ/blogging tip.

Folks have been talking about leveling up lately, and while the sentiment is nice, the concept always seemed kind of vague to me. What does one do to level up? How do you know when you level up? Should I have taken that broadsword proficiency at character creation? That is until I came up on an article from the venerable Chris Brogan, who I contend is the man whose blog taught me everything I know about social media. And I found this a couple of weeks ago:

How to Level Up.

I've been thinking a lot lately about doing everything. And sort of in the giant, macro vision of my life unfolding, I sort of get yipped the fuck out and get paralyzed at so much one has to do, in order to do 'everything'. And I'm not feeling as mentally agile as I did back in high school. My brain feels like an old timey battleship, one that has to go 180 in order for it to fire its broadside cannons. Yeap. Just like that.

This post is to sort out my Prime Directives (a la Robocop) that will hopefully frame and guide any sort of leveling up endeavors in my life currently. As follows:

1 - Write one hour version of Bi-Poseur (my one man show)
2 - Continue to be on that weight loss tip
3 - Expand DJ knowledge/skills
4 - Learn how to drive

Try not to get caught up in other people's hustle, or where they are at right now. Stop thinking in tiers. You're probably not that worthless. Just some things to keep in mind.

Great, now that's taken care of, I got some XP to earn.
