It is getting intense in the home office...I'm getting footage from all over the world and dealing with all kinds of tech issues with these funky formats...this like I said is a high-profile project for the UN and I'm being a bit reticent about it here because, well, not everyone is totally open-minded about web communities like SG. wink

But if someone expresses actual interest I'll...

Starting to get used to working from the home office though it feels like so little gets done sometimes. I'm working on yet another high-profile job for the UN, did I mention that? I'm basically in charge of this job which is pretty massive, involves getting people all over the world to shoot stories on the impact of the global financial crisis.

Now that I...

i'm lucky enough to have made some strong friends here, enough so that i've been operating on gift memberships. my last one just expired, but i had a second saved, so i just confirmed that.
getting active in the groups is the best way to make friends here.
sometimes random comments on a blog can be a bit unnerving...
meh, that's my advice at least. i'm not all that great at keeping up with the discussions myself so i'm not one to talk...

I just shot an interview with the Secretary General of the UN, in his office! I've spent the last several days trying to set it up, chasing down his secretary by email and phone and just found out last night we had a slot for this morning.

It was almost a comedy of errors leading up to the shoot...the security was insane, there was lockdown...

all the weird knitting came from google searches... sometimes i just type in things like "alt crafts" or "subversive crafts" or other times i know theres something out there and i just have to find it, like the knit uterus. i dont think i could make one thing i posted, and i've been knitting for a few years now. maybe the shaun of the dead dolls...maybe.
thanks for the well-wishes. he's working 3 jobs and cant make ends meet, and i contribute nothing except myself,(which honestly doesnt seem to make much a difference to him) and occasionally transportation

Finished my freakin' paper...the professor said it was due 3pm and of course it took me exactly until then including the 10 minutes my printer decided to spaz out in a weird way.

I did work on Chinatown, the threat of gentrification and the efforts to rebuild since 9/11, just scratched the surface but learned some fascinating history and made some interesting new friends too....
