I've been reticent on my blog because nothing I do seems very SG-like but I realize I'm a little mysterious on here as it stands so...
my birthday was all I hoped -- I got to eat, drink and do karaoke with my friends all within two blocks of my place!!
and last night was another friend's bday where we had our own karaoke room w open bar at Karaoke 17 in Manhattan.
my selections: "Rock Lobster" (B-52s), "One thing Leads to Another" (The Fixx), "Evil Woman" (ELO), "So Watcha Want" (Beastie Boys), "The Fly" (U2), "Something" (The Beatles),
My last song that night was "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (Nirvana)...good thing because I used up every bit of my voice. gotta give Cobain credit, it's hard to shout/sing that high.
I'm turning into a bit of a karaoke-holic, now that we've discovered this place a block away that seemed like a scary dive for burnouts from the outside, but every Saturday they have karaoke and the crowd is not bad once your'e in there.
In contrast to my main pursuit these days of finishing a documentary on a Palestinian detained for two years by Homeland Security (Enemy Alien trailer) it's a chance to unwind & indulge the performer in me.
