So, it's thursday. Things are heating up in Winnipeg and so far I've managed to keep my non-airconditioned apartment cool and dry. That's not going to last much longer, and it doesn't look my financial situation is going to improve to the point where I'll be able to afford an air conditioning unit.
Under Pressure was in the studio for 19 hours this past Saturday. We recorded the instrumental tracks, including a doubled guitar, for 8 originals and 3 covers. The covers were "Modern Problems" by Negative FX (for a tribute compilation), "It's Time" by The Faith, and "Who Are You" by Void. Oh yes, we still have to record a couple of guitar solos, and none of the vocals have been put down yet. We're hopefully going to take care of that next Tuesday.
The results were amazing. Definitely the best thing we've done yet. Not to say I'm disappointed with our previous efforts in the studio, including the GLW LP which can now be previewed (well, one song anyhow) on the Under Pressure site.
Man, I've got to figure out how to get some money together pronto. I am supposed to be going out tomorrow with a friend, wandering around the city and taking photographs, before we treat ourselves to sushi (well, vegetarian rolls for me). I also have to make a payment on my amp. Hmmm. Oh well, things usually work out somehow in the end.
I've been trying to catch up on sleep. I just woke up from a nap but now find myself uninspired and with nothing to do. I'm not sure if I have the attention span to read so... I will shut up and stare at my screen for a while...

That's cool that the results turned out well. I haven't been in the studio in a while, but I always have a hard time maintaining the patience that it takes. When the end product sounds good, though, it's all worth it.
