Just got back from my wife's post surgery appointment. We discovered that she has to go back for some more surgery because the margins were not quite clean enough to suit her surgeon. The surgeon was within 0.1 cm of the margins, but because there was a some portion of invasive cancer(about 3mm), she wants to make sure everything is clear. This way, my wife can rest assured that all of the cancer will be gone following radiation. My wife is a trooper and even though I could tell she was disappointed, she is holding up well. Hope everyone's new year is off to a safe and happy start!
