This was kinda scary... Byron sometimes gets bad leg cramps in the middle of the night. It seems to happen mostly in hot weather, and after a few seconds of excruciating pain they usually ease up and go away. Well, it happened again for the first time in months at 4 this morning. Except this time, the cramps didn't stop. He couldn't straighten his leg...

I need to be doing algebra homework puke , but thought I should write a few words. Writing class is going to be intense! We have 8 weeks to write a 2500-3000 word research paper on a topic that touches on some aspect of "Fast Food Nation," which we're reading for the class (I read it a while back, but it's such a great and disturbing...

I couldn't put her new one down, and The Mother Trip makes me bawl every time I read it.

And I get to meet her in two weeks! love

You would have been a fabulous mama.

Well! I have a 3-4 minute introductory speech about myself to come up with by tomorrow; we're supposed to use at least 3 objects that represent who we are, kind of a show & tell type of thing. I plan on bringing one of my bellydance LP's, a copy of TBP and something from my mermaid collection. We'll be doing one informative speech, one persuasive...

lol YAY! you're obsessed with mermaids!!

I figured if I gave out the call I'd get a ring from somebody smile

I'd love to hear your input on the subject of Mermaids: hard to say xactly where to begin; I've communicated with at least two people, since starting this project, who believed they either were part mer or had a very intense connection with them-- and lots of others for whom the ocean is just very compelling for inexplicable reasons... Would you be one of those folks? Have you read stuff about mermaids? Hmm... not sure even what questions would be good... But would you be interested in sayin some words?

Thanks for the sympathetic words, everyone. The nail's still fairly tender but hurts a lot less. I think I do see a bit of wood still stuck under there; the dark spot may be a bit of paint. It's just gonna have to grow out, I guess. What a way to start the summer quarter... frown blackeyed

I am, however, faring better than our editor at TBP,...

My mother wiped out like you described the editor doing, broke her teeth. It's scary.

I'm trying my best to keep going. It seems much easier here on SG than some other places. Maybe it's the nudity. Or the overwhelming amount of humor that the boards provide me with.

One way or the other, I will survive. Just having a rough summer. Everything will get better...I hope.

love

blackeyed blackeyed blackeyed blackeyed blackeyed blackeyed

I did something really, really stupid this afternoon. I accidentally got a big sliver of wood shoved underneath my left little fingernail. I think I got most of it out, but there's still a black spot that might still be some of the splinter or maybe it's blood. It hurts like HELL. I haven't done anything this stupid in a long time. It's not red...

It's probably too late to be telling you this but, for future refrence. If you get blood built up under your finger nail drill a hole in your nail. It will relieve the pressure of the blood and the pain goes away instantly. You have no nerves in your nail so the drill does't cause any pain. just a FYI

Can't think of too much interesting to say this morning (almost afternoon, sheesh!). Lilith wrote in my journal!!! love I took some pics on the webcam with Marvin yesterday, so I'll be putting those in my profile pic over the next week or so. He did NOT want to pose pretty... But I think we look purty cute together regardless. miao!!

I'll get my bracelets back. Sylvie has them. I just really don't want to go see her right now. I am (for lack of a less vulgar expression) fucking pissed. What really gets me is that it's not the first time this has happened.

And don't worry too much about rushing back to talk to me. You haven't missed much the last few days, believe me. A lot of confusion and bitterness.

Ha ha! This site made me biggrin ...

I just can't tell you how great it feels to take a shower and not have the water slowly creep up around my ankles.... smile

Big plans for today include going to the PO, taking the packing materials over to that one place, and getting a new notebook for my algebra class. School starts Monday.... eeek

Happy Midsummer, y'all! Today's...

I LOVE Oscar Wilde! My favorite line from him? 'It's me or those curtains. One of us has to go' or something like that. I have read the Picture of Dorian Grey and all his short stories. I have yet to read Salome. Anyway, I'm rambling! Thanks for your comment on my set! smile

The blushing bride has returned! Go say hi already! love

I've had 2 bottles of Mike's and I can barely keep my eyes open. I honestly don't know how you drinkers do it. I had 5 years of living hell with an alcoholic stepfather, so I've never been much of a fan of the drinking scene. I do like a glass of wine or some Mike's...

Drinking is all about two things: tollerance and experience. With one or the other any person can have an extreme time of drinking but with both it also tends to be a good time.

I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you on the pot/alcohol thing: pot has ruined plenty of lives too, it's just that smokers tend to fade away rather than burn out so you don't notice it happening so much. In the end both are abusable substances which only enhance self-destructive behavior which was already there if used in anything much beyond a casual way. Everything inmoderation as they say. (However the occasional blow-out is quite healthy, hence we have New Years, St. Patricks, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and birthdays. Everyone gets shit-housed on those day, right? Right?) wink biggrin

Edited 'cause the damned smiley didn't work. And to add that I shall be celibrating big time, and probably soberly tommorrow. I am so looking forward to the Solstice Parade. I shall take many pictures and post any good ones I get.

Mike's? Ew. That's a kid's drink, Pyewacket!

My girlfriend's seen some problems with alcohol in her family, so she doesn't like to drink too much. I, on the other hand, am far too much in love with beer I can't really afford to ever be anything like a teetotaller. (Yesterday I had a cranberry maple wheat ale--yum!)

Happy Summer Solstice! (It's frickin' raining here, but no matter--these days I've time to wait for the sun.)

Ah, a certain feeling of accomplishment as the blessed rain pours down from above... The programs are up, the second batch of proofing pages are out, the plumber just left (very cute butch dyke; unclogged that sucker after a bit of a struggle but it's DONE, halleluja!!), and I'm actually getting the laundry put away and some of the basic clutter around here dealt with....

:sigh of relief: OK, I have playlists for all 3 programs put together and the voice tracks done. All that remains for this evening is FTPing the tracks and writing up the playlists on the site. It's a long and laborious process, but it's worth it. I have decided to go to a summer schedule of 2 programs once a month, though; with school coming...
