I don't know if I'm really qualified to voice an opinion on this subject, but I will anyways.
I'm sure the owners of this website are making a good amount of money from the paying members of said website or it wouldn't have been around for so long. Granted I don't know who pays for the trips to shooting locations, who pays for costumes or how much models are compensated for their photos, but I'm sure that the first 2 aren't cheap. I know that the "trickle down theory" doesn't work economically, politically or in reality so I'm guessing that it's not in play or working here either. I realize that there are costs for running this website and everyone in business loves to make a profit, but I would think that after all the time and effort put into these photo sets by these generous women that it would only be fair for them to be compensated accordingly. It's my understanding from reading some of the blogs that the reason for the exodus of some models to other websites is because they feel that they aren't being treated or compensated fairly. They put themselves out there for all to see, express their feelings openly, risk damaging their reputations and even the possible loss of their jobs (which apparently happened to one SG model very recently) because of some peoples' outdated morality and ideology so it only seems right and just that they be compensated fairly. Maybe there should be some type of arbitration between the models and the SG owners to come to some agreement and solution about these issues because I personally find it morally wrong to support a website that objectifies women for the sole purpose of profit! Not that I necessarily got that impression from this website as I don't really know who owns or runs this site. I would hope that all SG models, SG hopefuls and SG members would all be able to treat each other fairly and get along. I love this website and would hate to see it destroyed by all this dissension and disagreement and hope these issues get resolved expeditiously because I would genuinely miss seeing and interacting with all these beautiful women from around the world!!
