Jimi Hendrix - Castles Made Of Sand

I've been on a Jimi tear throughout the weekend... he's the main reason I wanted to learn the guitar. My mom introduced me to Motown, James Brown, Sly and The Family Stone and Santana... dad gave me The Doors, LZ, Queen and Bowie. But Jimi? I found him on my own. His music remains the most personal, lyrically. This song is one of my favorites ever, yet I still haven't attempted to play it. Manic Depression? Third Stone From The Sun? Angel? Sure. But not Castles... can't tell you why. Anyways, it has a lot of meaning these days considering my current situation.

J. Hendrix - Red House (live)

A lot of folks remain incapable of understanding why I'm leaving CA. As nice as some of it is, for this chapter in my life I feel this place has run its course. I haven't said I won't ever return. I'm not doggin my homestate. In some ways, I'm like a nomad because of how I was raised; moving from city to city, state to state. Honestly, I cannot tell you if I'll ever settle down for more than 6 years in one location. To me, there's too much to see.

Have you ever done something or been somewhere so long that every fiber of your being compels you to tread on new ground? Not only to keep one's mind stimulated... but have a metaphysical detoxification of sorts. No doubt ALL of us felt this way after graduating high school, or moving out of the family home, etc. Venturing out to find oneself. Discovering new pathways of thinking... writing... creating! Not to mention, experiencing some excitement traversing in the unknown every now and then.

If you cannot relate, I'm sorry there's something very wrong with you. confused blush blackeyed

So! Let me ask you something: If free of doubt and fear of failure, and completely confident that your heart's desire may come to pass... where would you go to start anew and what would YOU do?

Addendum: ...and what's truly stopping you from being that person?

Holy FUCK.
A serious blog.

wink Imagine that.

No, it's still too deep to answer. I'm a third of the way through my friends list if that, but I'm going backwards alphabetically.
