Life is good.. at least it seems to be getting better.. I figured out what to do about the website client who isn't paying me. I found a client willing to buy the site for $10,000.00 if the other guy won't pay me by Tuesday! I know this sounds strange, but I've been screwed by a few web design clients before, so now I do things differently. I own everything untill I receive final payment, then it is transferred to the client. This prevents them from fucking me and allows me to build the site's value in case I need to sell it off.
This will be the 7th adult website I have built, marketed, and managed.... of course it's also the biggest pain in the ass I've dealt with in quite a while.. I don't even like doing web design for anyone other than myself, but the money is so good... I couldn't not do it.... and it's a boost to my ego knowing that people come to me because they know I'm damn good at creating a money making site. I just don't like the whole beggining phase where everything drags along, payments are made late, the client wants to re-negotiate the contract, etc. Oh well...
I had a house full of people this evening.. or should I say back yard full of people.. I got over my feeling of wanting to isolate, so I called up some people and fired up the grille. We had smoked sausage, killer hotdogs, veggie burgers, veggie hotdogs, and all sorts of other snacks and stuff. I hooked up $6,000 worth of kick ass audio equipment in the garage to power the speakers I just mounted under the overhang and on the back porch so that we could have good sound. Nothing like a killer sound system to improve a party!
And then we played poker again till just about an hour ago. I won $200!! Woohoo!! I probably smoked a dozen cigarettes while playing though... so much for quitting..
It was a really good night and it was just what I needed to bring me out of my little depression. My friends totally rock!
Tomorrow I'm going to bumblefuck PA to blow shit up! A friend of mine's family owns property out there and has quite an assortment of rifles, shotguns, and pistols. I haven't fired a gun in more than 3 years, so that will be fun. I refuse to hunt, but I don't mind shooting at targets and bottles and stuff.
Well, I suppose I should try to catch a few hours of sleep and not sit in front of the computer all night again..
