There was 3 inches of water on my basement floor today! The sump pump was not plugged in for some reason and with all this rain... well.. you get the idea.. This basement needs to be re-cemented really bad. There was water coming through the floor and out of little holes in the lower part of the walls. So after spending the morning doing flood control, I had to go to work and play with high voltage wiring. I normaly hire an electrician for these jobs, but it was a small home theater so I did the electrical myself. It was just what I needed, a cash paying client! Woohoo!! I love when they pay me in cash, it's like free money! So I get home at like 8PM and the basement was flooded again!! This time the pump was clogged up! I'm going to home depot tomorrow and buying the biggest fucking one they have! After spending the last couple hours in the basement trying to get all the water out, I'm totally exhausted. I had to use a garage broom with a big squeegee on it to push the water from one side to the other so it went down the drains. While doing this I slipped and fell into the fucking shelving along the wall and landed on my tailbone! THAT REALLY FUCKING HURTS! I've decided that I REALLY hate living out in the burbs and having a big house! I'm going to move back to the city and get a huge loft on at least the 3rd floor! Fuck this suburban nightmare, I'm done with it! I guess I can just blame it on the ex, after all... I would never have moved here if she hadn't told me she hated living in the city.
