I just realized I had hardly spent any time here this week, that's not cool! I've been insanely busy trying to finish the jobs I have going right now so I can collect final payments and go on vacation. I spent yesterday in manhattan dealing with a new computer virus that just hit. Some idiot put al the computers in this store on the internet without a firewall or anti-virus software! Since I just so happened to be there, I took the call.. 3 hours later it was all better, I rock!
So today I'm going to buy a new laptop to take with me on vacation. I found a 12" powerbook for stupid cheap, so I think I'll buy it. I'm so fucking happy I can barely contain my excitement! I have the entire next week off! Then I go to NYC for 1 day of work and after that.. I'm on vacation for a month! How did I accomplish this? I finaly was able to hire someone who knows what they're doing, who can run things while I'm away. Could it be that I'll actually be able to relax for a month.... no running around between Philly and NYC... I'll believe it when it happens!
This week has just turned out to be fucking amazing. I ran into a good friend of mine on Tuesday who I haven't seen in almost 2 years. He's doing IT infastructure for a pretty good company over in Jersey. Turns out they have 3 other offices that need network cabling run all over the place, so we talked about having my guys do it. I don't like to pull wire myself anymore, just because it's annoying.. So I told him I charge $100/Hr. for it. He said that's fine! I almost choked on my steak! $100/Hr to pull wire! I have guys that will do the work for $15 an hour and then I'll do all the work at the head end. So I get to make some decent money on this one. The nice thing about it is they won't need me there till I'm done with my vacation! It just doesn't get much easier than that!
So I've made a list of all the bands I want to see this year including show dates, Etc. I've decided that no matter what comes along, I'll be going to these shows anyway. I only went to 4 shows last year and that really sucks! I'm tired of missing all this great music because I have to work, so fuck that! It's not gonna happen this year. I'm also going to make it to the Chicago Blues Festival this year, which I haven't been to in 5 years! Now that just sucks! If you've never been to it and you like the blues... well.. get your ass over there!!
