Ahh, thank God. I get to work on Christmas! Sure I get paid double time, but more importantly, I get to miss dinner with all my mother's nasty relatives, most of whom are still too uncomfortable with me to make actual eye contact. I just feel a little guilty for leaving my mother alone with them. (Though, I can't wait to hear her tell me about the earnest, hand-ringing conversations they will try to have with her, regarding me and [whispered in hushed tones] "the girl thing.")
