i like my job. sometimes people can be a pain in the ass, but typically the good outweighs the bad at my current place of employment.
not too long ago, one of my housemates yelled at me because i'm applying for cashier type retail jobs. she told me that i can do better, and that i "have a brain".
at this time, i'm taking a semester break from school, and i'm reevaluating everything in my life. i don't want a stressful job or a boring office job. i'm not even interested in doing psych research as an assistant at this time.
i guess i'm just annoyed with people telling me what i should be doing, and assuming that it doesn't take any intelligence to work certain types of jobs.
why the fuck does it matter if i'm enjoying myself?

i work in retail, mucking about in a record store - and it's probably the best job i've ever had.
sure, it's not the most intellectually stimulating job i've ever had (i worked in advertising for a year in london), but fuck me, i'm getting out and having a laugh.
people will start seeing that you're of a healthier mind and soul because you're doing what makes you happy, and they'll keep quiet after that.
go girl! etc
