things have been so entirely odd lately. i was in the local paper on monday in my halloween costume. i had no idea my pic had even been taken. weird.
today, i did data collection for a study i'm doing for my "test and measurement" class. i learned that when i try, i am very convincing. people just couldn't say no to me, no matter how busy they were. anyway, there was a slight run in with some assholes. I made the mistake of giving two male friends the survey to fill out simultaneously. so, in the middle of filling it out the one randomly whips out his schedule for next semester, and says "oh yeah, look we have that psych class together next semester." he said in a way that my partner understood as meaning "oh look. i take psych classes, therefore, i know exactly what you are trying to do with this survey." THEN, the two guys start chatting about the survey and filling out together. they both made sarcastic remarks about the content, and were being generally smarmy and were wasting my time.
i put thee smacketh down.
i curtly walked over to them and said "excuse me, but this is not meant to be a group effort. we're interested only in your own personal opinions" with a nice sorta condescending fake smile. they were shocked. you could tell they were the kinda guys that look down on everyone, and not many people put them in their place. anyway, the good news is they shut up and finished the surveys. the bad or funny news is that as my partner and i were walking out of the room, they were very quiet and stared at us as we left. as soon as we stepped out of the room, we could hear them talkng about us.
i'm going to see lords of acid tomorrow. yay! last time i saw them was over 2 years ago, and i had a blast. i even got to kiss the lead singer deborah. rawr.
the only problem is that there are 2 other shows i would like to go to, one being the cd release party for a white rap group called grand buffet and another beign a synthpop band at the warhol museum. i'm really sad i can't go to the cd release, because i went to the release for their first album. i know the guys in the band, and not only are they hilarious but they are also kind and down to earth.
oh well.
i hope to see some of you pghers at loa tomorrow. i have purple hair! you can't miss me!
