I didn't get into Northwestern for my PhD. This isn't a terrible surprise...it has a great history department, only accepts about 6 or so history PhD students a year, and gets somewhere around 150-200 applications. Regardless, it does sting a bit. Now I need to start worrying about how I can afford to keep going to the most expensive school in the world.

On the plus side the Dropkick Murphys were great on Friday, Sid kept me distracted and smiling for the past few days, and I have another few years to hang out with all the cool people I've met in Boston so far.
