quiescence

So I just got back in from a great evening out with crazygrrl, mistressmissy, stirfry, and Zeke. We had lots of good Chinese, though we couldn't eat all of it, and saw a couple bands out in Coventry. It was a lovely evening out and everyone in the area should come to the gala birthday bash that stirfry is having for mistressmissy in September.

In other news, tomorrow is my last day of work. I went out and spent far too much money (for a poor nearly-grad-student like me) on little going-away presents for some of my coworkers. I hope they appreciate them.
It's a bit odd since the past year is the longest that I've held a job...indeed the longest that I've been on the job to support myself. It will be very strange to go back to the ivory tower of grad school, but good. Leaving tomorrow will be great in that I don't have to keep getting up at 5:30 AM each day, but also because I think that some of my coworkers will genuinely miss working with me. I can't ask for more than that.
Tomorrow is also the beginning of the 48 hour extravaganza that is my going away bash. I'm expecting lots of people to come by and pass on their wishes and help me kill my 100+ bottle bar. It should be a weekend to remember, if I can...
