I'm going to wait for a few weeks, get my tattoo, and drop lots of money on new clothes. This seems, to me at least, to be a good plan for welcoming spring. biggrin

So, now that I'm not languoring under the pall of a 103 degree fever I can get back to doing normal things, like hanging around SG and posting.
Unfortunately my recent illness destroyed my valentine's day weekend. I spent most of my time semi-conscious in my girlfriend's bed (just lying there inert sadly). At least today I feel somewhat human again. My best friend moved...

Actually, for me the doctorate hasn't been overrated; in addition to mollybloom's excellent point about avoiding reality, if you want to teach it's the only way to go. Plus it's enjoyable in and of itself...

hey Mr, Guy

I found a group you might like

it's the kitties group on this site and it looks to be active and cool. Your girlfriend told my about your debate on declawing and I thought you might want to take a look.

It's amazing what having beer does to me...I think tha I posted more comments in the past ten minutes than I have this week. I need to stick to liquor.
*sigh* How desperately I wish that I didn't have to be working at 6:45 tomorrow morning...

Right then.
My weekend rocked...I had band practice for about 7 hours Saturday and 5 yesterday and we sounded damn good. (I can't wait to go to the world pipe band championships and kick some ass this summer.) Spent about 7 or 8 hours out with the band partying after Saturday's practice.
Today I find out that my stuff of promotion-y goodness at work is...

Welcome to SGOhio! I'm in Columbus but have family in Lakewood, so when I head up North next, you'll have to let me know where those good martini spots are biggrin

I found out today that one of my friends at work could very well die in the next few weeks.
He found out monday that he has an aortal anuerism, one large enough that they can't use the easy-on-the-body surgical techniques and they're going to have to split his chest to operate. He needs to get the operation done ASAP, but the surgery is risky...

I really loathe the fact that due to one sociopathic bitch customer today I got screwed over, have completely shot any chance at a (much-needed) raise, and lost my, to date, unblemished record at work.

I can't wait to go back to grad school in the fall...

People suck.

The ones that complain unduly have never worked a job that involves customer service. If they had, they would be a bit more understanding.

good luck with it all. smile

What a fabulous weekend. No boredom, no depression, and lots of god times to speed me on towards work tomorrow *sigh*.
I'm definetely liking the ever-growing number of SG members in the greater Cleveland area. We may have to get something started here soon... biggrin I know I'd be glad for a chance to meet other interesting people (with such good taste in passtimes) and waste...

Better day, less bored and depressed.
Tomorrow I get to go to go out with my kitten and have a good dinner and show to enjoy. Between that and the company of my lovely lady I'll be doing well. Yeah.
Everyone should read the Onion at www.theonion.com.

Spirited away was incredible. It's out on video now but I can't find it. Guess it's time for a trip to amazon.com or suchlike. I wonder why there seem to be more leos than any other sign on this site... Perhaps it's just my own perception but you know. Hey it's nice to meet you. I suppose we'll run into one another sometime, huh? I'm gonna stick you on my friends list if that's all right with you.

Hell and a half...what a weird State of the Union.
I'm all for economic reform, madly happy for help to Africa, and thrilled with the proposed environmental bills and research funding for hydrogen cars.
I'm a pacifist, so the whole "we're going to war, probably next week" element is a bit disheartening. Yet the whole reign of terror in Iraq is also unconscionable... I am...

I agree about the State of the Union address. It's disheartening to hear about all the junk when as a self-proclaimed "super power" we should be setting an example by helping other countries and obeying laws we helped to create.

College sloth is definitely fun, but for as many times as I have nothing to do, I have three times as many instances of being fucking busy. That's grad school for you - never consistent.

So yeah, I haven't updated in a bit...

Awesome weekend, very relaxing. Didn't want to go back to work yesterday and I think I stared at my alarm for about 15 minutes before moving this morning.
I don't think I'm going to be able to get my ink done as soon as I want it (which is now) due to a bit of a shortfall...

LiveJournal is a piece of dog poop, especially if you want to access it in the evening. I understand the popularity of the site probably detracts from the speedy access, but it's been unreal lately.

Sorry to hear about the funding issues. I can sympathize. What school are you doing your grad degree at? I wish I could recommend where the political rallies and activism took place, but unfortunately there is so much apathy these days it seems like no one really wants to bother.

Glad you updated. smile It has been a while.

So, not much to mention right now. If anyone has any suggestions or info on clubbing options in the Cleveland area I'd love to hear about them (and share bits of what I've experienced...).
I'm almost finished wth the design for my tattoo, so hopefully I'll be able to get that done in a week or two. Then I'll just have to get more info...

252 Tattoo in Olmsted falls (on the corner of Sprague and Rt. 252) is a good, reputable place to get tattoos. I saw an older woman there before and she did a good job with mine, it was small, black and had some fine detail in it.

If you want to get pierced, there's only one place: Body Work Productions in Ohio City. Very great service and the owner is an absolute sweetie (and a damn fine piercer)!

I'll have to ask my pals about the clubs. They are way more into the scene than I am. smile

As I've only just found out how cool this site is and I've yet to meet any people here I'll use this journal entry to introduce myself.
I'm tangentially involved in the Cleveland goth scence and have been for a few years as I attended college near the city. I've played bagpipes for 10 years with some of the best competing pipe bands in the...

welcome to SG. bagpips and goth huh. never would have thought the two went together.

i don't think they do....but nothing wrong w/diversity.

a femlale friend of mine used to play cello in a goth type band (they hated the term but the lead singer sounded too much like nick cave).

cleveland used to be a pretty tuff scene.....but thats all going on word of mouth. an ex-friend/acquaintance of mine used to run a club/record shop up there.

i can't remember. i want to say common ground but i know that wasn't it.

it was a skinhed/punk place. some of the harder edged bands played there. his name was bodahn. he was a stereoided s8x kid when i knew him
