Well, the band got 2nd place this weekend at Maxville. Mind you, second out of 13 bands in Grade II is no mean acheivement smile I'm starting to get really psyched for the World Championships in two weeks.

Now if I can just manage to find housing in Boston in the next 4 days everything in my world will be just lovely.
mistressmissy:
congrats hun
and im sure everything will work out

So tomorrow begins my weekend of fun and insanity. After work tomorrow the first leg of driving begins for my trip to Canada and the North American Pipe Band Championships in Maxville, Ontario. The band is in great shape and I'm really excited to go up there and go head to head with some great bands. Regardless of who wins (though I do know what...

happy birthday doll. are we still celebrating thursday? hmm hmm
clara:
Congratulations, second place sounds like a victory in that sort of competition. I've not heard of Josephine. I'm more working class; Tanqueray suits me fine.

I hate pulled muscles... how lucky I am to have inherited both my father's bad back and my mother's rather awful neck. blackeyed

Anyone feel like being a masseuse? confused
scooter11:
Sorry--I actually hadn't heard it in a while...
mistressmissy:
ooh i have credentials.
i was the band masseuse for all my friends bands
i pretty much got suckered into each time
but i can never ignore "but you're the best" compliments when they begged.

What do you call nigh until 18 hours with your pipe band in two days?

Fulfilling. Everyone is working their asses off to make sure we sound as good as we can. No one is slacking, no one is just going along or being complacent, and, surprisingly actually, no one has allowed our success so far to let them think that we will have any...

A most enjoyable evening. I hung out with my friend Zeke this evening. We went to my favoite local bar, only to find that they've temporarily had their license suspended due to a filing error, but they we're having "Prohibition Specials" on some of their food and the dinner bill for both of us came to $6.65.
After that we went to Zeke's favorite comic...

You should do this when I can come! Please? You're lucky enough to be going to Boston so you should at least have a convenient shindig. When are you headed out anyways? *hug*

Once more sweet sweet music can be heard playing joyously from the speakers in my car as I drive over hill and dale. (Ok, so just dale, this is Ohio.)
I finally got a new cd player installed in my car today. I cannot express how happy this makes me, especially given my impending 9 hour drives to and from Canada...
I unfortunately forgot to...

There is a very definite point where reading Boudrillard and listening to Rasputina begins to collapse neural pathways. On the upside, my head does have a vaguely pleasant jelly-filled sensation. (How deeply ironic that I read Boudrillard, listen to a cd of quasi-classical "goth" cello-rock and then post about it to an electronic community built around "altie" porn that proposes a countercultural model of feminine...

Strangely, Rasputina's cover of "Wish You Were Here" is playing on by MD player right now.

I hate my photo editing software. However, despite the amazing, nearly cyclonic sucking power of it all, I finall sat down, scanned a few pics and posted them.

In other news I played and played with my pipe band at the Berea Celtic Fest today. Got some sun, a touch of dehydration, and little else from it. At least they have a number of good...

Right now I'm lovely well tipsy. Had a chance to hang out with a few friends this evening in a rather fine and low-key social gathering at my place. Played some games, drank some of my rather gratuitous bar, had a good time.
Tomorrow I get to play with my band at the Berea Irish Fest. I heartily recommend anyone who can to come and...
