i want to thank all of you for your concern and kind words.
after trying again to evacuate, i was still unable, so i turned around and will be waiting it out in my apt. i'm on the second floor, which is either good or bad, depending on who you ask. it's just my brother and i, and we are well stocked with water and booze. they are saying we may be without power anywhere from 2 days to a week.
as for today, i plan to go gather even more alcohol in anticipation. last night, my brother and I cleaned the last open gas station out of all their Budweiser. the storm will be hitting tonight. wish me luck.
for those of you who have been so kind as to speak to me on the phone, i have your numbers and will try as soon as i can once this thing is over to let you know if i am ok or not. my phone still (kind of) works, altho i hear that folks have tried to call me 3 or 4 times before getting thru.
to the rest of you guys that are staying: be safe. my phone number is posted in the TEXAS group, so if you need anything or any help or wanna come drink the booze, call me.
