wide-eyed and freckled
she dances in photos
that capture the songs
that she sings to the air
and makes notes in her mind
w/the crayola colors
and paints me a picture
with the fire in her hair

scribbling the letters
that make her heart smile
she sees the world upside down
when she lies on her bed
and cries in the moment
when she sees her own beauty
staring back from the mirror
that's been painted in red

and her laughter is symphony
sounds in the late nite
to squeeze out the tears
that are soaking my eyes
until then i'll just hold her
in imagination folder
a beautiful thought
from the deepest of sighs.
