One of these days I will be laughed out of the therapy waiting room, and I will flee in tears, clutching my bag like I belong in a John Hughes movie or a car commercial. Then I will come sneaking back to peer in and find the rest of the monsters of the madness screaming at each other who deserves the crown. And w/nothing to throw at one another, medications start flying: PAXIL, LITHIUM, DEPAKOTE, RISPERIDAL, EFFEXOR, etc...
It's a storm of pharmaceuticals that ends when everyone has collected handfuls of various colors, and some people are on the ground gasping for their last breath. There is an elderly lady leaning against the wall, trying to catch enough of a breath to drink the water she has, and she holds a tight grip on her new pills. I watch a boy approach her, a child whose parents were probably killed in that terribly war of recently, and I expect a beautiful, cliche, moment where he hugs her...he doesn't. He grabs her water, and when she is distracted with that, he looks down, grabs her medicine, and pops all her pills.
And I'm done waiting.
I hear DMX.
or some grizzly bears.
