Oh God, what's happening to me!?
I can barely stand up, my eyes are sagging out of their sockets and I can't taste anything except the sulfer and chlorine...the walls are smiling & their teeth are cracked like broken pebbles left over from the rubble of the crude clubhouse I built when I was eleven--the time I scratched myself w/a branch and ran screaming into a giant cactus and spent the next week picking invisible hurt from my back and knees while every last kid in the neighborhood stopped by to offer their laughter and just like these fucking walls that are closing in faster so now my elbows are touching and my tattoos are combining and now I have only six fingers and one knee and this is pain worse than the cactus and I long to be in my clubhouse with a glass of strawberry milk and a Lucky Strike, because...
amigo,
let me tell ya
this ain't lucky.

this part is my favorite:
ran screaming into a giant cactus and spent the next week picking invisible hurt from my back and knees while every last kid in the neighborhood stopped by to offer their laughter
something about the invisible hurt sounds so good...
