So, yesterday I went back down to the facility that had offered me a job, to check out the area I'd be overseeing if I excepted the position. All the equipment was rusted and leaking. I asked the Maintenance Director if they were complying with all the health codes and he said "No, we don't have to, we're private." That's Bullshit! Everyone has to comply, and if an accident happened it would show negligence on the part of the facility for failure to comply. I also met with the person who would be my immediate supervisor and he basically told me he had no experience in the industry at all, but "It would be fun learning everything!" So they:
Offered me 66% of Fair Market price for my services
Are no where near compliance on safety standards
Want me to work for someone for whom I'd have to train whilst being reponsible for 75% of the total operations.
Not happening.
I guess it's back to the drawing board in terms of a new job.
