on a whim
i took it upon myself to change
to be different from yesterday
i failed miserably
and what i found
was that i was already what i should have been
first instinct is usually right
but often wrong
in this case
correct
now...
i am back from where i was

finally whole
finally something i can say is not perfect
but at least... me
and if tomorrow i find my decision has done me in
at least i'll know
i did it all
no one to blame
no one to worry about

at last
i can walk down the street
and say
'i'm done'
