mmmmm grilled tentacled goodness!

Went out with most of the shift to give a proper send off to one of our own before going on to his next base. He was the last of the previous rotation still on my shift, my number will be coming up soon! Lots going on at work, we got six kinds of busy happening and won't be having our K-days for a little bit. Got a bunch of guys returning from mid tour this month too, will be good to see them again, hopefully the days tic by slowly for them. We hit up an all you can eat buffet/grill it yourself place, I had some octopi which turned out pretty good. Bounced to our favorite nearby downtown KC bar, S & S, for a few drinks and some shots from our adopted fd bartender and then went to a karaoke place around the corner. Good times. A few of us had to roll out early though and run the hooch. Thankfully we opened later than usual and had a good night. It was mostly slow til the curfew crowd rolled in. Best part was when the rest of our going away bunch showed up and started dancing and being crazy. It was mostly the guy leaving, so I know he had a good time. As a special occasion it was also one of the few times he'd been drinking with us, so he was nicely toasted. Working the day after sucks but nothing like sitting around shooting the breeze once all the details are done and helping folks remember everything they did and a few things we just embellished. 'Did I do the worm last nigh?' 'Yes, yes you did...three times!' 'That explains a lot ><' = )
