Over the next 7 months a relationship slowly built over Myspace, email, and text messages. In August we met, and although there have been hurdles, it has been an incredibly rewarding relationship. The first I've had in a very, very long time.

So 374 days ago was the day she changed my life. The letter arrived during the hospital stay where I died. I tried to think of some other way to say that. Maybe call it "the worst hospital stay of my life" or something, but it didn't seem to imply well enough what had happened. It still doesn't, now that I look at it. A Myspace message saved my life, or if not saved my life, gave me a reason to not curse and hate the fact that I was living. In a year that was mostly dark and horrible, she was one of my stars that guided me through.
