Here's how I know I'm on the road to recovery - I start being productive. I do things. Important things. Things that need to be done, but I didn't have the energy to do. Such as:

Today we went apartment hunting. Well, it wasn't much of a hunt, really. It was one apartment complex, and it wasn't going anywhere. It wasn't hard to track down. More of apartment stalking, I guess. Whatever you call it, Raseny and I agreed on, and went by, an apartment complex and talked to the management. Raseny liked them. I wasn't impressed. Salespeople bug me, especially amateurs. The forced smiles and clumsy handshakes make me feel dirty. But it's part of the show of finding a place to live so I deal with it. When Ellen is in town on Friday we're going to do a walk through of the models and pick up applications. We'll probably turn them in next Monday or something. Who knows, maybe I'll be moved by the middle of October.

I set up an appointment with the ear surgeon. This was done on Friday, but I consider it part of this Weekend of Wellbeing. There, that's catchy and corny enough to work as a slogan. Plus it has repeating W's which will wow weaders... er, readers. The appointment is Wednesday (see, another W. I r clever), and hopefully he/she will tell me they can fix my hearing with little to no fuss, pain, or time. For those of you out there who don't know, and care enough to read this far, I have a hole in my right eardrum. Yes, I'm half deaf. I've been told it can be fixed with a very minor surgery. A small stitch in my ear will hold my ear drum together, and restore some-to-most of the hearing in that ear. Also I need a tube put in my left ear, and they can do that while I'm knocked out to get the right ear fixed. I've been meaning to get this taken care of for months, but the thought of another surgery, no matter how minor, has been about as appealing as slamming my head into a brick wall.

The final commitment to productivity - I'm going to be making spaghetti! Wandering through the grocery store tonight I found myself pulled, as if by some unshakable gravity, to the cans of tomato juice. I stood there, staring at the cans, asking myself, "Do I really want to do this? Spaghetti is an all day thing. It's like, work and stuff." Then I flexed my arm, let out a barbaric howl of strength and virility, and heaved those two cans of tomato juice all the way down the aisle into the cart Raseny was pushing. It was glorious. Men and women cowered before us as I stomped through the grocery store grabbing onions, garlic, tomato paste, and many fresh herbs packaged so nicely in their little vacuum packed sealed containers. You know, for freshness. Dry herbs are for posers.

It's been a full day. There were also donuts, coffee, and many hours of discussion with Raseny about cyborgs and vampires - two great tastes that taste great together. The fun part of the day is over, although I doubt it's coming to an end. I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight. Instead I'll be cleaning my room inbetween hours of Mass Effect.
"Why not Warhammer?" you might wonder. Well those douchebags at Mythic made my account inactive. Apparently people who ordered the box version of the game were making a lot of noise about people who pre-ordered the game through download getting in before them, so Mythic Temporarily Cancelled The Accounts of People Who Pre-Ordered The Game to give the people who are getting their game via snailmail time to catch up. Read that again. How fucking awesome is that? I spent the money to get the game early, and now I can't even play it until they decide to let me back in. That may be as late as Wednesday. 4+ days of account inactivity. I want a fucking refund. If I knew that paying my money early to get a game early so I could start playing it sooner was instead going to result in me paying my money to be locked for a week I wouldn't have fucking bought it then. I would have waited until I had more money.... like this week.

And that's all for tonight.
