This will be my first Christmas alone. No family or close friends nearby, and no way to reach them. Some boxes arrived from Amazon.com containing what passes for affection in my family. It's funny, I know that if I had my family around they would annoy me to know me to no end. I don't like most of the folks I share blood with, but there is something remarkably lonely about not having them near on the holidays.

So what am I going to do for Christmas? Well, nothing. I've never really liked Dead Jew on a Stick Day anyway, and without people around to pretend that the day has any signifigance for, I won't. I'm going to watch the DVDs my family bought me (Farscape season 3 box set, the 2 disc set of Return of the Jedi, and Batman Begins), make myself some cinnamon rolls and coffee, and stay warm. That's my plan.

Oh, and call my family to say hi.
