It is Saturday the 29th I believe. I hear tonight in Portland someone very cool is playing music that's really evil. I would have liked to have gone. I, however, still have no car, and the idea of dancing causes my leg to ache and throb in what I assume is a pre-emptive strike by my still aching limb to dissuade me from trying anything stupid. It's much less bitchy than it used to be, my leg. Now I can walk to and from the store without the cane, and it only gripes a little bit. Definitely an improvement. I tried jogging a few feet just to see what would happen, and what almost happened was me collapsing on the concrete after two steps. That's going to have to wait a couple more weeks.
shiffting gears, changing the channel...
My mother is in England. Tonight she and a group of about 15 people got access to Stonehenge after hours, where they chanted, meditated, and prayed for peace. In her email she says she left a crystal tucked underneath one of the rocks. I think I would have done the same thing had I been there. Whatever faith I had in new age philosophy, though, has dwindled and fled, so I doubt I would be at Stonehenge on a Saturday night, praying and chanting. Although another me 3000 years ago probably would spend months looking forward to that kind of party, the 21st century me is spending his Saturday inside illuminated by the light of screen, communicating through finger movements.
And now I go to make my sammich, and go back to playing Everquest 2. Our guild has gained access to Deathtoll - the uber zone. It's where the toughest monsters are, and the best loot. Tomorrow will be our first day in there, and I'm excited. We've been working towards this for a few months now, and it's great to see it finally come together.
Good night
