I saw the doctor today to talk about how the surgery went, and what happens next. The good news is that the stenosis itself is short and easy to repair. What is worse is the scarring around my vocal chords. That will require a cartilage graft. A piece of cartilage will be removed from my ribs, and put in my throat to keep the airway around my vocal chords open so I can breat without the tracheostomy.

However, before that surgery can take place tests need to be done to find out if the muscles around the vocal chords are strong enough to do the work they haven't been doing for the last couple of years. So more tests and more needles before more surgeries, which I guess is the only bad news here.

Now if only my throat would stop hurting enough so that I could eat solid food, all would be fantastic.
