If my knee surgery has taught me anything, it's that hard work really does pay off. I excersized twice as much as they wanted me to and was discharged from rehab a full two weeks early. Not only that, the goal they set for me was to walk with a limp and a single point cane by the end of therapy. I was walking no limp and no cane. So, work it hard. But, the people around do know what they are talking about. If they say you are doing too much, you probably are. Get well quick man.
Today has been a fantastic day. I talked with the physical therapist, and he understands my situation a little better now. I also spent some time with an occupational therapist. There is an important difference between the two - the physical therapist is there to help me walk, and move. The occupational therapist is to make sure I can do things like cook, and bathe...

I made the mistake of using the walker well enough to go 10 feet down the hall without screaming in pain, and now physical therapy says I'm well enough to go home. As this is their opinion, I am not eligible for a nursing home or physical therapy facility....
