Okay, so one of the cool, awesome, real life things I did yesterday in an attempt to find some way to fill up the void in my life was go to One World Coffee and Trade in Santa Fe, to see Shelby Sifers and Paul Collins. I really liked the show.
But I have something even better to tell you! Before I joined SG, I was adding random SF area girls to my Myspace to chat and find something fun to do around town. This one girl I talked to on aim was telling me that she wouldn't chat with me or ever consider dating me because "the internet is creepy"
Well, at the coffee shop, and I should have realized this because there are very few things for the 20something crowd to do in santa fe, this girl was present. And I just happened to introduce myself to her without knowing we had already met online - probably because she was staring at me unnaturally. And when I said "Hi, I'm Jeff . ." she just said "This is really awkward" and gave me a weird look-
leading me to believe that my way of introducing myself to random people is creepy and awkward, like my habit of introducing myself to random internet people.
She just told me tonight, "Sorry for acting so awkward at the coffee shop last night." It took me 30 seconds to piece together what must have happened, and I started laughing with relief. Apparently I'm not the freak. People who act like dicks because they "hate the internet" are the creeps, because they memorize the pictures of random myspace people, then act weird when they meet them in public, even though if we hadn't met online AT ALL, I would have introduced myself to her just as before, and we might have been friends.
Ahahahaha. Oh the poetic justice. Ahahaha.
