The popularity of weblogs (blogs') is booming. All of a sudden it's cool to keep a journal/diary, but not in the classic sense of it being a personal hobby. It's definately a public event for some people.

I have one (this can most definately be counted as a blog), most likely anyone who reads this has one (or two, or three...). Add to this the...

There is a difference between having your privacy violated by 'big brother' or whoever it may be, and having your daily events posted, willingly, by you, on an internet community. Here, you only tell what you want, when you want, and you rarely share the intimate details about your life. You just pass on some things that you thought were fun or interesting.
If we were/are constantly being watched, then the voluntary element is removed, and instead of being fun, it becomes invasive. You don't have to be obsessed with privacy to find that prospect very frightening.

An astute observation. I HATE journals....I esp hate people who say that they journal...it's not a bleeding verb! I found it offensive that I was expected to submit journals in school...I had no desire for my profs to share in my thoughts and feelings. How dare they demand that I emote on paper. I get a kick outta this recent news brief 'bout the Osbourne son in rehab. Here is a family that lives on camera demanding that the media respect their privacy...

We left the bizarre behind us. The stale air, cheap booze, frantic waiters and waitresses and the good ole' 5 o'clock shadow.

Whenever the clock strikes 9 we think about all the 9 o'clock's we've seen. The 9 o'clocks we've felt. It's a torrential downpour of a time just past 8 with whispers and whiskers brushing our windburned cheeks. There'll always be another 9 somewhere....

i understand her wanting to keep the peace too...

when i read the original post, i sat for half an hour writing a really mean bitchy post, only to not post it... half because i didn't want to start more drama and half because i couldn't say it right. but it's bugged me ever since, and it finally came to me yesterday, and loudmouth that i am i just had to say something. biggrin

thank you for the support... i was worried about being flamed about it, but you and everyone else have renewed my faith in humanity yet again.

I'm off here for a few days. I've self-imposed a strict regimen of no computer related hobbies during the nicer weekends this spring-summer.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll definately have a new pic up next week.
-----------------------------------------
I'll see some of you Sunday though (hopefully).

Imagine..

Pictures standing ten (10) feet (~3m) tall with laugh lines curving around the block, up the street, down into and inside the collonnade (what's a collonnade?).

We laughed, jumped, played around with; engine grease. Held up the milky way with gloved hands of chagrin, ablution, style... oh yes.. definately with style.

Can we forgive? Reach down, lift the couch cushions, uncover the hearts/minds/souls and...

I bought a new pair of glasses yesterday, I'm excited..

I don't get them until the end of the week but hopefully I'll have a new pic up soon anyway (the current one isn't that great).

Only downside is, they cost $600.. I hate being a blind person.

I hate how much you have to pay for cool glasses... I put some on my visa last summer that were over $400, they are cute though (maybe I should wear them?) they have little gems on the arms and the frames remind me of butterflies... and they kind of shimmer and change colour when they move. I'm not blind really, just an astigmatism, mostly I wear my glasses when I am watching movies or in class and need to see the board... Imagine how much better I could bowl if I actually wore them... makes me wonder. wink

I need new glasses like I don't know what. Just not willing to put out the money. Mine cost a ton too 'cause my eyes are THAT bad. I have to order my contact lenses because no place actually stocks them. Thank god for 1800contacts...
But 600, wow. For that kinda cash you could have gotten a couple of kick ass tattoos, a bunch of new records and a huge bag of weed. At least that's what I would do with it...

I've been a wee-bit incommunicado in the last little while..

Sorry about that.

No problem or anything, I just needed a break from computers for a bit.

Hope everything's well.

It's,
9:28am.

Co-workers are buzzing.
Phones are talking.

The low hum of computer monitors, coffee makers, and water coolers fill in the necessary white noise compliment.

Bloody hell.

(sorry for complaining..)

9:28...what are you doing up so early? Go back to bed now.
twinkie_chainsaw:
So are you saying that you haven't been looking forward to working in an office all your life?

You look like you're drinking wine in a bowling alley in your pic...
