So, apparently the reasons behind the tan coloured PC era is as follows:

1. It was to help people in the workplace be more comfortable with radically new technologies that would eventually result in the mutation or extinction of the workplace.

2. The people who weree designing the stuff were unconsciously terrified of their own product, and in order not to scare themselves, kept it looking as unexciting as possible.

Of course, I'm stealing this entry from William Gibson's "All Tomorrow's Parties".

It's not fantastic, but it's not bad either. I just got back from staring at, literally, a dumptruck full of vanilla-coloured computer parts. It left me with a guilty conscience over unnecessary waste, and an eye-ache (it is possible) from the colour.

And, well, I have very little to actually write of substance on this Monday afternoon.

like the episodes of I Love Lucy, wherein Lucy Ricardo would end up working in a factory, things always had a tendency to run out of control. She would always try to keep all of the wheels in motion, and chaos would surely and predictably ensure.

only fools fall in love, and ignorance is bliss. i am a fool, and ignorance is a luxury i would love to afford myself.
