I have bad news.
It appears as though I might not be at Prom.
No one is more upset about this than I am, believe me, but something's come-up and I'm not sure if I can get out of it.
No matter what though, I will be there earlier in the day to assist any with any setup stuff, hopefully see as many people as I can, and attempt to atone for my absense that night.
I'm sorry. I'm still hopeful that something may turn around, but there isn't much chance of that happening.
