What's up SG Land! Not blogged in a while, the new layout really discourages it.
I finished my last day at work last Friday after being made redundant, but this now has been nothing but a positive...
I start my new job on Monday! I've landed the best possible job I could hope for with my level of experience as the Meetings & Events Co-ordinator at a major hotel chain here in sunny Brighton. I'm still in shock I landed this role, I have a degree in Event Management but no direct experience in the field. However I think this played in my favour, as I think they were looking for someone like me, no direct experience but plenty of the relevant skills learned in other area's so they could train someone up to do it their way as they are providing me with loads of training, off to Croydon Tuesday, Wednesday and Swindon on Thursday/Friday (staying overnight) for various training.
This means I've only spent a week out of work, I've now got a job in the career I've always wanted and to top it off a couple of grand extra sitting in the bank redundancy money (though most is gonna go on clearing debts and practical things like a washing machine XD)
