Halloween Weekend Rocked!!!
Wow, I have 9500 comments on SG now, do ya think I'm gonna hit the big 10,000 before my day on November 11th? I dont think I can do it, but who knows!!!
Can you believe its Nov. 1st already? I cant!!!
That just means the holiday season with Thanksgiving & Christmas is just around the corner. And I'm still not sure if thats a good thing or bad thing. And damn... hasn't this year just flown by? I think so! 2005 is gonna be here before we know it!
And I cant believe its only 10 days until I turn another year older... damn I'm getting old. At least I'll be celebrating my bday with some of my favorite people in the world... and that alone is worth turning another year older!
Clover is coming to Ohio for like a week Nov. 16th... its gonna be fun getting to hang out with her in Columbus & our turf... she'll get to meet everybody & see how we roll... she's gonna have a good time! Plus, that weekend she'll get to go to her 1st PHP... she's in for a blast!
Tryst is coming Nov. 19th - 22nd, I am excited!
Jem is still the awesome... she's cool & is even making me hats... wait till you see her talent with this!!!
I guess I'll recap my weekend for ya:
Friday
I met up @ Fusion in Dayton with Poe, ghosty, sonet & were joined by visionsofred later as well. It was an alright time, Fusion really wasn't my thing! We were there mostly for the Black Tape For A Blue Girl show, opening bands pretty much sucked! But it was cool hanging with everybody for awhile, especially since it was right there in Dayton! I left early, hit up Diamonds for awhile, just chilled & called it a nite.
Saturday
It was another hugely successful Punk Nite, yet another packed house! And thats saying alot considering I didnt promote as much as I usually do... plus all the other Halloween shows & parties going on... we held our own! Alot of bands still gave me props... and that made my nite! It was cool to see speedphreak make it out to the show with his girl since he was in Cincy for the weekend, thanks man! Good seeing ya tearing it up in the pit!!! It was the 1st Punk Nite only doing 4 bands instead of 5... everything ran alot smoother & the turnout was just as good if not better! Things kicked off sometime after 10 with a killer set from Boucing Bettie and the Bombshells, street punk from Springfield, Ohio... and their set also had some great covers that included: NOFX - Murder The Government, AntiFlag - Punk by the Book, & Lars Fredrickson and the Bastards - Dead American, it was good shit to say the least! They were followed by the debut & 1st show ever from The Social Whores... and wow! These guys brought it... this was my good buddy riseagainst1's new band... I've known him for years from his previous bands Gusto, Last In Line & Vermiscious Knid! These guys brought it all... energy... a big crowd... and a frenzied mosh pit, just what I like to see at a Punk Nite! They opened their set to the beginning part of Legbone's - Swallowing Razorblades, this was classic... then went full throttle into some of their shit! The crowd was way into it & riled up from start to finish! They were all decked out in nice suits & ties... it was cool as shit! They threw in some killer covers that included: Mistfits Medley - "Astrozombie," "Skulls," "Halloween," & "Last Caress", this was killer! However, that wasnt all... they threw in a "Tribute to Dubya" that included a cover of AntiFlag - Die For Your Government... threw in there a Vermiscious Knid song... and ended their set on a high note with a cover of Pennywise - Bro Hymm, where they were joined by just about everybody on stage. We were joined by Anarchy Man during their set, I'll have to post a pic when I upload em, he was some funny shit! It was an amazing set to sat the least! Watch out for these guys in 2005!!! Next, The Story Changes filled in for Scullsoup who couldnt make it cause of one of their band members had an unfortunate accident, we were bummed they weren't able to come out! But we made due. Then Legbone, dressed up as The Misfits played yet another killer set in Troy that included both old & new... as well or course as some Misfits covers, the mosh pit was in a frenzy as it always is when Legbone plays Troy! This show was the highlight of my Halloween weekend... it rocked!!!
Sunday
I went to Columbus and hung out with Poe & ghosty, had an interesting McDonalds experience, ask them about it! Then we went to Rag-o-rama... got Poe a cute dress & lil purse.. went back to ghosty's and shot a new set for Poe, it was alright... we'll see if it gets accepted!
Monday
I slept... caught up on SG stuff. Now I'm ending the Halloween season by watching horror movies, I've watched House Of 1000 Corpses, Freddy Vs. Jason & now I'm watching the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, now thats how you end yr Halloween weekend!
I bought the new GWAR album War Party on Friday, its alright. But I AM looking forward to seeing them in Columbus on Sunday Nov. 14th... my bday weekend, hellz yeah!
I need to upload onto SG all the pics I have... still have all kinds of pics from the last PHP, Hell-o-ween, & just all kinds of other shit, damn I'm lazy! Maybe I'll do that this week?
I wont be making it out to Bento's tommorrow... ya'll have fun & lemme know how it goes & that I missed out. I wanna see pics!!!
