What an amazing week!!!
Last Sunday (Aug. 3rd)... saw Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. Great show!!! I absolutely love Joan Jett! And I dont think she ever ages! It was so good seeing her live.
Then... Aug. 4th - Aug. 9th... was spent on the road with my favorite band Girlush Figure. It was mostly Ohio shows... except for Aug. 7th which was in Chicago... it was such a blast!!! It was so good seeing the girls back at it again. They so rock! Their new drummer is amazing!!! The new songs are some of the best things they've done yet! The new cd sounds great & I cant wait till its officially released! We got to see / hang out with lots of bands we know like Legbone, Deceiving Ralph, The Stunned, The Give-Ups, Children Of Reagan, Downtrodn, Vermiscious Knid, & The Vote. Good times!!!
The shows went well for the most part! Seeing all the bands we knew again definitely made it fun. I do have to comment though on the Chicago show as it was something quite different than what me & the GF girls were used to. So they played this thing called ESTROJAM in Chicago on Aug. 7th... it was a fest that ran Aug. 7th - 10th... with mostly female performers. GF played on the 1st night of the event. Well, we got there & pretty much right from the moment we got there... the people were giving us the royal treatment. Yeah, had our own dressing room... our own runner... people to unload the equipment... an actual sound check... free food / drinks... and the coolest were the little "backstage passes" we had to wear. It was so awesome!!! It kinda reminded me of the time I had backstage passes to see Babes in Toyland open for GWAR in Chicago. I think we were all trying to play it cool... but were acting alittle overexcited. It was such an amazing time! At the end of the night... we didnt want to leave our dressing room. And the people w/ ESTROJAM were so impressed w/ GF... they were asked back to play next year. So I'm already looking forward to that!!!
I think I'm gonna be heading out for some more shows w/ Girlush Figure starting late next week. We'll see how those go!!! Looking forward to it!!!
