SO here's the update on the state of Jason's health:
I got to the hospital today where I was immediately sent to the lab to have blood drawn for tests. 11 vials of blood in all. I started to get light headed near the end. *laugh*
Once that was finished, I went for the ultrasound on my liver. That was fun. Turns out that there's nothing wrong with my liver. Thank gawd.
Next was the actual scope. They set me up with the IV, started pumping water into me and brought me into the room for the procedure. The doc came in, asked me some questions as he started dosing me with "a narcotic and a sedative". A few minutes later, I remember them putting the bite guard into my mouth and feeding the scope through it. I vaugely remember gagging and coughing as they started to feed it down my throat.
The next thing I knew, I was awakened in the recovery room. I sat there for about half an hour, then rode home with my friend Jess who came to pick me up.
They did tell me that I have some ulceration in my esophagus and they took a biopsy of it, but that the anti-biotics that I'm taking for the pneumonia should help clear up the bacteria in the ulcers too.
We'll see, right?
