A friend of mine is a pilot and offered to take me on a flight in his plane last weekend! My first time in a small plane.

This was quite a spiffy, high-tech plane. He owns a share of it along with some other pilots. Here is a shot of the cockpit controls.

He decided that we should go to Vulcan - no, not that one, rather a small town in Alberta. It has become a bit of a pilgrimage for Trekkies. I had never been there before, so I was looking forward to seeing it. Here are some shots from around town...

As you can see, they really play up the Star Trek angle!

It was a fun flight, I had no problems being in a small plane like this. I would do it again.
