I put some 500K pots in the new bass to give it some more output. It sounds a little bit better, but Im going to have to install some other pickups. The stock single coils from Fender just dont cut it. Im going to grab some Bartolini J-Bass Humbuckers. I love the fact that Guitar Electronics is a five minute walk from my apartment. Theyre on reason I dont want to move to Tempe.
Speaking of moving to TempeIm moving to Tempe, or at least somewhere closer to where I work. Im tired of driving 30 minutes to work in the morning in traffic and 30-45 minutes home from work in more traffic. Plus, I want to be on my own for a while. Ive had room mates for almost four years.
So far Ive gotten my car to run again, replaced the PCV valve, upper/lower radiator hoses, spark plug wires, spark plugs, and had the brakes fixed. Now Im moving my focus to fluid-related things, like getting the oil changed, the transmission flushed (plus filter change), etc. I gave the car some fuel system cleaner today. I think I made it really, really happy. I still need to replace the heater hoses and the O2 sensors.
Im thinking about removing the EGR valve and using a kit to block off the ports. I can pull a little bit more power without it there. I cant pass inspection here in AZ without the EGR valve, but I also dont have to have the car inspected down here, since its registered in Washington.
Still looking for a rear, drivers side door to replace the one that was smashed. Im going to make some phone calls and scour the net this week, then visit junk yards this weekend.

Thank you. That will give me some time to straighten up around here anyway. MS is coming over to help me fix some things thing weekend, but there's no way that will be the end of things to do. Email me when it gets closer to the time, and I will know more about what still needs to be done.
