Saw Batman Begins today with my boss and my room mate. If youve been thinking about seeing itdo it. It beats the hell out of the previous Batman movies, including the Burton/Keaton flicks in the late 80s and early 90s. Its dark, sometimes scary, sometimes suspenseful, sometimes emotional, and completely action-packed: exactly what Batman should be, and what the Year One comics (by Frank Miller) were all about. I really enjoyed it - thumbs-up!
There are lots of exciting things happening at work. Were doing a lot of work with broadband over power technology; in fact, were the leaders right now as far as we know. We have the largest and longest-lasting contract with a power company to work on BPL in the country. Our test market in Casa Grande, AZ has been extremely successful and all of the participants love it. I could go into detail, but it would probably bore the hell out of most people that might read this.
Some people are moving around, some things are changing around the offices, some new stuff is coming upjust lots of change, and all of it is for the better. Im geek-excited about the good chance well be getting PDA-phones to handle our field communication. The idea of being able to pull up a work order or customer information sheet (we call them PIFs) while at a customer site makes a lot of people, including the higher-ups, giddy. I have quite a few projects of my own coming up that Im looking forward to. I absolutely love my job.
I almost had to go to Tucson tomorrow to wire up a co-location we have at a Qwest central office, but I got out of it somehow. Im sort of thankful for thatI want more experience wiring them, but Ive done quite a few already, and I didnt want to spend an entire day in Tucson.
Hopefully Ill get to do something this weekend. Last weekend I sat around bored the whole time. It seemed like everyone was busy or wouldnt return my calls/text messages. Id love to get smashed, watch cartoons, and pass out Friday night.
Ive rambled enough.
Addendum: That girl I mentioned in my last entry? Yeah, rejected. I knew before I asked, but that really wasn't the point. The point was to ask - it's the first time I've ever had the sack to it. I had to conquer some very old demons to bring myself to do that.
