The Great American Hunt for Control Arm Bushings continues. The past few days have been an auto parts adventure. Ive been to all three of the major part store chains in Arizona, and not a damn one of them has the control arm bushings I need, save for Napas main counter in Tempe. It looks like Ill be heading over there after work tomorrow, since its about five or ten minutes from where the shop is. Hopefully theyll still have the little bastards in stock, because I needs them, precious! I want to do all of the joint and bushing work tomorrow.
Thursday morning, on three hours of sleep, I got up for work. I put the ol Neon into reverse, and think to myself man, despite how awful I think this car is sometimes, its so much better than my car back home. As I think this, I start backing up. I look behind me to make sure no one is there, and as I turn around to face the front of the car again, I watch my drivers-side mirror catch the pole holding the covered car area up; the same pole that Ive been parking around for two and a half years. I watch as the malevolent little bastard reaches out and rips my mirror right off of my door. I didnt have a reaction. I just looked at it. I think the only thing I said was crap. Sometimes, you get to a point where you just dont care. I called into work, told them Id be a little late while I see what I can do about the mirror. Super glue and hopes and dreams are all thats holding that mirrors plastic in place so the screws have something to screw into. I can get a set of (better) replacement mirrors off of eBay for about $30, but I have to see how the must haves work out before I buy new mirrors. Im going to work like a doped-up Jack Russell terrier in order to complete my web development contract so I can get paid and get everything taken care of.
Yee haw!

it's funny how things just don't seem to get a reaction out of people anymore. i would have done the same thing.. just stare at the empty hole where my mirror used to be.
but what do i know?
i should get my new disc drive by the end of the week. *crosses fingers*
